Does this oud smell like the real thing? It smells like Cambodian oud in its raw, unpolished state, presenting a dense woody core that feels deeply resinous and earthy. The animalic accord is prominent here, delivering a barnyard edge that is pungent and slightly sour, never smoothed over for easy wear. Warm spicy facets add a dry heat that complements the wood, but the composition does not attempt to soften the challenging aspects of the resin.
