Our take

The morning air is bright and active as a man walks through a city market, the scent of Out In The Storm moving with him. Mandarin orange and lemon provide a sharp, immediate burst of sunshine that cuts through the cool air. Cinnamon adds a warm, dry heat to the opening, creating a vivid contrast against the crisp citrus. As he moves past stalls of fresh produce, the heart of the fragrance reveals itself. Ginger brings a lively, fresh spicy kick that feels energetic and bright. A subtle rose note floats through the blend, offering a soft floral touch that prevents the spices from feeling too heavy. Tonka bean weaves through the middle, adding a gentle sweetness that prepares the nose for the deeper materials waiting below.

The lower half of the composition settles into a bold statement of amber and animalic ambergris. Leather emerges with a rugged, slightly rough texture that anchors the earlier brightness in something masculine and grounded. Vanilla smooths the edges of the leather, but it stays in the background, supporting the amber rather than turning the scent into a sugar-heavy treat. The overall impression is one of fresh spice meeting a wild, animalic base. The limitation here is the rose. While it is meant to soften the blend, it sits awkwardly against the rough leather and ambergris, creating a floral clash that distracts from the otherwise cohesive spicy and amber character.
