Our take

Parfait de Rôses Edition d'Art is a formal evening companion. The opening spark of pink pepper and aldehydes clears the air like a crisp entrance into a candlelit room. It does not drift toward casual daytime wear because the heart immediately deepens into liquor and two forms of rose. Grasse rose brings a refined floral character while the liquor note adds a rich weight. This combination creates a scent that feels suited to occasions where presence matters more than ease. The aldehydes give it a classic lift, but the pepper keeps the florals from floating away into something purely light.

The base confirms the argument. Tonka bean, benzoin, vanilla, frankincense, and orris build a heavy amber foundation that anchors the roses. The accords of warm spicy, sweet, powdery, and iris tell the rest of the story. This is not a breezy spring walk. It is a fragrance for coats, scarves, and dim restaurants where the air is already warm. The vanilla and benzoin create a resinous sweetness that feels indulgent rather than playful. Frankincense adds a dry, faintly churchy smoke that keeps the sugar from taking over completely.

Nathalie Lorson composed a rose that wears its finery without apologizing. The amber and alcohol accords make it feel like a drink held in a velvet glove. Wear it when the invitation specifies black tie, or when a cold night calls for something that matches the weight of a heavy coat. It belongs to the person who wants a rose that remembers the grand traditions of French perfume and prefers a sweet, powdery finish over a fresh, modern sparkle.
