Vicolo Del Sellaio
Fragrance notes
Character
Vicolo Del Sellaio does not move quickly through its phases. The saffron and raspberry open together, but the fruit stays quiet while the spice takes the lead. Thyme adds a dry, green edge that keeps the start from feeling like a gourmand. It is a masculine composition that asks for patience as the initial sharpness settles.
Incense and jasmine form a heart that feels more smoky than floral. The jasmine is present, but it recedes behind the grey haze of the incense, supported by the metallic accord that gives the air around the skin a cool, mineral touch. The leather in the base arrives early, wrapping the heart in a material that feels sturdy rather than polished.
Vanilla and amber provide a sweet, animalic warmth that anchors the leather. This weight means the scent stays present for a good portion of the day, though it remains personal and does not project far beyond the wrist. The saffron continues to glow through the base, linking the spicy top to the resinous drydown so the transition feels continuous rather than staged.
The aromatic herbs and the warm spicy character suit a walk through a garden when the air is cool but the sun is out, or a morning indoors with the windows open to a crisp breeze. The raspberry note offers just enough fruit to keep the heavy materials from feeling oppressive in that light. The amber lingers on the skin as the vanilla softens the sharper edges of the thyme
