Our take

Solaris opens with a sharp citrus bite, lemon and neroli cutting through a black currant sweetness that feels almost jammy. This is not shy. The tiare flower and ylang-ylang arrive quickly, tropical and creamy, but there is a powdery jasmine that refuses to let the composition fall into sunscreen territory. It develops into a vanilla and sandalwood base that is warm without being heavy, though here is where the fragility shows: the sillage hovers near the skin like a half-remembered whisper, and longevity clocks in at just over three hours. You will reapply.

The overall character is a sunlit morning on a terrace where the flowers have been dusted with pollen and a wooden chair still holds yesterday’s heat. It feels sweet but not syrupy, natural in its floral heart but with a synthetic brightness to the citrus that keeps it firmly in modern niche territory. The powdery dry down is the softest part, cedar adding a dry skeleton to the vanilla’s cream.

This is for someone who wants a sheer, optimistic white floral that behaves like a spring day in a bottle. Skip it if you demand projection or a fragrance that lasts through dinner. Wear it on a warm afternoon when you want to feel polished but not performed, perhaps to brunch or a garden party. A pretty, fleeting thing that knows its limits.
