Our take

Palazzo by Fendi opens with a citrus spray so bright it could be the sun catching the rim of a champagne glass, tangerine and Amalfi lemon zipping alongside pink pepper’s fizzy warmth. The pink pepper is key here, it keeps the top from turning into a generic fruit salad, adding a nervous, almost savory energy. That fades quickly into a white floral heart that feels deliberately opulent, African orange flower and jasmine wrapped in a rose that is more powdered petal than thorn. The whole thing settles into a woody base that is surprisingly grounded for a perfume this luminous, sandalwood and guaiac wood with a low hum of patchouli, sweet enough to soften any rough edges. It’s an Oriental Floral that wears more like a cashmere cardigan over a silk slip dress, familiar but expensive, comfortable yet knowingly luxurious.

The longevity and sillage hover around the three point mark, which means this is a polite companion, not a room divider. You get about four hours of noticeable presence, then a soft skin scent that lingers through an afternoon. It feels synthetic in the best way, like a perfectly engineered rose garden in a marble courtyard, no dirt, no bees, just a controlled bloom. That powdery, slightly sweet character makes it versatile across all seasons, fall and winter especially, and it works equally well in daylight and at night.

Who should wear it? Someone who wants to smell expensive without announcing it from the next block. Skip if you prefer sharp green or leathery scents, the sweetness here is persistent and unfussy. It is a classic, composed by three master perfumers, and while it doesn’t shout, it does settle on the skin like a well cut blazer, reliable, flattering, and quietly memorable.
