Character
You stand at the edge of a damp field with your sleeves rolled down and your coat still buttoned, the air cool enough that the fabric feels like part of the skin. This is a fragrance for that walk, when the ground is heavy and the trees have already dropped most of their weight. The opening hits with Sichuan pepper and fig leaf, bright and green, then lemon zest and mandarin pull it toward something edible without making it sweet. Orange peel adds a dry bite that keeps the citrus from feeling like summer.
The heart turns herbal with basil and nutmeg, patchouli grounding the green with earth, while jasmine and neroli lift the center just enough to keep it from collapsing into mud. Bergamot and geranium sharpen the edges. The base is where the picture settles, orris and birch tar meeting vetiver and cedar, hay and labdanum rounding the corners with a resinous warmth. Benzoin seals it with a soft powder. The result is fresh spicy and woody, leather and smoke curling through the green like a path you already know.
