Our take

A white towel is spread over hot sand, still holding the creases from being shaken out a minute ago. The air above it ripples with dry heat while a cold can of sparkling water beads beside a paperback with curled corners. Sunbathers opens straight into that moment, its lemon bright and slightly sharp, the way citrus smells when it hits sun-warmed skin. Green leaves add a crushed, stemmy freshness, like the torn edge of a mint sprig dropped into a glass. Ginger brings a gentle prickle that feels more like heat on the back of the neck than a spice in a kitchen. Nothing about it feels arranged. It smells like a body settling in, not a perfume trying to arrive.

Cyclamen drifts through the middle, soft and watery, its pale petals evoking a damp swimsuit tossed onto a lounge chair. Sea salt sits beside it, not in a heavy, oceanic way, but like the faint crust on skin after a quick dip and a rough towel dry. The heart stays close to the skin, literally and figuratively, never raising its voice. There is a casualness here that feels intentional, as if the fragrance is content to exist only in the immediately nearby air. It does not beg to be noticed. It simply lingers where the skin is warmest, moving only when the body does.

Then comes the turn that defines it. Sunscreen and coconut water anchor the base, not as a dessert-like sweetness but as the smell of a cream rubbed in too quickly on a humid afternoon. The coconut is pale and watery, the sunscreen more about the creamy residue than the chemical opening of a fresh tube. Together they smell like the inside of a beach bag, a little salty, a little oily, entirely familiar. This is not a fragrance that wants to be complex. It wants to be the smell of a lazy afternoon in full sun, and it succeeds by refusing to be anything else. Citrus, then salt, then that creamy, warm skin drydown.
