Our take

Fig opens Indigo green and a little milky, and bergamot brings a citrus lift that balances the fig's natural sweetness. Tea and cardamom move into the heart next, tea adding a dry, slightly bitter edge and cardamom a warm spice that gives the whole opening some backbone.

Cashmere wood is the only base note listed, and it carries the fragrance into something soft, woody, and a little musky rather than sharp or resinous. Staying power runs at a fair, middling pace, and sillage barely extends past the skin, a private, close warmth that others would need to lean in to catch.

Indigo works well across most of the year, at home in a cool fall evening as much as a warm spring afternoon, the single cashmere-wood base giving it an easy, season-neutral warmth throughout.

The fig and tea pairing is the most memorable part of the whole composition, milky-green fruit next to a dry, tannic leaf, an unusual combination for a mainstream fragrance house to commit to fully. It asks to be worn for yourself more than for anyone else in the room, a quiet, considered scent that rewards someone paying attention.
