Eau de Vintage opens with a sharp, bright citrus blend where bergamot and lime lead, supported by the crisp tartness of rhubarb and a touch of ginger heat. Raspberry and apple add a pale fruitiness that never turns syrupy, while black pepper, saffron, and nutmeg give the top layer a dry, slightly resinous edge. Incense curls through early on, subtle but present, keeping the citrus from reading clean or simple.

As it settles, orange blossom and heliotrope begin to show, with jasmine and rose adding a soft floral lift. Lily-of-the-valley brings a green, slightly dewy freshness, and orris smooths the transition into the base. The heart feels composed rather than crowded, with the florals sitting closer to the skin than the opening notes, which carry well beyond an arm’s length and linger on clothes and skin through a full day.

Vetiver and guaiac wood give the drydown a dry, lightly smoky woodiness, with patchouli adding earthy depth. Ambergris and tonka bean round it out with a mild, salty-sweet warmth, while musk and cashmere musk keep the finish plush but restrained. The scent stays present for hours without overwhelming, projecting steadily in a way that feels intentional rather than aggressive.

The note list is extensive, and at times the composition feels busy. The rhubarb and incense, in particular, compete with the florals in the early hours, making the direction feel slightly undecided before the base settles.
