Anima Mineralis
Fragrance notes
Character
The morning sun hits a limestone terrace in high summer. You stand near the edge where the stone still holds a faint chill from the night. A sharp spray of bergamot cuts through the warm air, bright and immediate, while aldehydes lift the citrus into a shimmering, slightly metallic haze. Beneath that brightness, a pinch of cumin adds a dry, human warmth that feels sun-baked rather than heavy. The flowers arrive without softening the edges. Narcissus carries a waxy, hay-like depth, and jasmine weaves through it with a clean but insistent white petal presence. This is not a gentle garden. The air feels alive with yellow pollen and green stems, restless and loud in the heat.
The stone accord anchors the scene, lending a mineral, chalky texture that mirrors the terrace beneath your feet. Honey drips into the base, thick and golden, but it never turns the air sugary because the oud underneath is raw and splintered. The wood feels dry and slightly sour, rubbing against the floral sweetness until the two sit in a tense, unmoving line. The animalic accord lingers in the background, a reminder of skin and heat that keeps the composition from feeling like a clean laboratory creation. The limitation here is the cumin. On some skin it grows sharp and medicinal, pushing the entire scene into a harsh, almost sweaty territory that overwhelms the elegant stone and flower beneath it.
