Must Musk
Fragrance notes
Character
Must Musk opens with a bright, fizzy lift from aldehydes that immediately meets a soft, creamy almond. The sparkle feels airy rather than sharp, and the nuttiness gives it a gentle, almost lotion-like warmth that settles quickly into the skin.
Rose and jasmine arrive soon after, but they stay in the background. The white florals are clean and slightly soapy, never heady, and they let the powdery accord take the lead while the flowers add a faint, dewy freshness.
The base is where the fragrance lives. Musk and amber create a smooth, slightly sweet blanket, with vanilla rounding out the edges and sandalwood adding a dry, pale woodiness. It smells like clean skin that has been dusted with fine, expensive talc.
Composed by Elodie Durande, this 2023 release suits anyone who loves vintage-style powder but wants a modern, almond-soft touch. The one drawback is the almond note can read slightly synthetic, giving the opening a faint plastic edge before the florals calm it down.
