Suede Galore
Fragrance notes
Character
A workshop table holds a shallow dish of juniper berries beside a glass of dark rum. Bergamot brightens the edge of the air, sharp and clean against the wood grain. The scent arrives quietly, sitting close to the skin from the first spray. It does not project outward or announce itself to the room. You lean in to catch the full mix of fruit and spice as it settles into the leather of a worn jacket draped over the chair.
Suede takes the center as the heart develops, soft and textured against the dry heat of guaiac wood. A trace of jasmine floats through, not floral in a loud way, but adding a slight powder to the surface. The rum note lingers, warm and slightly sweet, blending into the hide rather than standing apart. It feels intimate, meant for the person wearing it rather than those passing by.
Vetiver and patchouli ground the base with an earthy, slightly damp depth. Black amber smooths the edges, pulling the woody and musky accords into a single steady line. The composition holds its shape for a reasonable span before the notes begin to soften and recede. It never demands attention or fills a wide space, staying personal throughout its wear.
Celine Guivarch composed this 2018 release for Cloon Keen Atelier as a leather scent that favors closeness over reach. It suits cooler days when you want a woody, aromatic trace that stays near the body. The final impression is the scent of rain hitting a suede sleeve inside a quiet library.
