Fétiche Le Santal
Fragrance notes
Character
Fétiche Le Santal runs thin if you expect a heavy, resinous sandalwood that anchors a whole day. The wood here feels polished and pale, lacking the deep, oily weight that grounds the most memorable sandalwood fragrances. Instead, the fig milk pulls it toward a bright, almost breakfast-table softness that can read more like skincare than perfume.
That creamy pairing makes the scent feel relaxed and sunlit, as if you have just stepped onto a quiet balcony with a linen shirt still warm from the dryer. The lactonic accord gives the air a gentle roundness, while small threads of green and powdery spice keep the wood from disappearing completely into the milk. It sits comfortably in the space between a body lotion and a proper fragrance, easy to like and hard to remember an hour later.
Marie Salamagne has built something smooth and very wearable, yet the composition never quite decides to be bold. If you want a sandalwood that asserts itself with confidence and leaves a clear trail, this one will feel too tentative and mild. The same lightness that makes it an effortless daytime companion is the reason it may not satisfy a true sandalwood lover.
