JOURNEYS 4/RIMA
Fragrance notes
Character
The room is dim, lit only by the amber glow of a low lamp and the flicker of a nearby hearth. You pull a wool wrap tighter around your shoulders and catch the bright, tart spark of blood orange rising from your wrist. It is a small, vivid flash against the heavy air, a single note of color in a space filled with dark wood and quiet warmth.
As the evening settles, sandalwood and black rose begin to unfold. The rose is not fresh or dewy. It is deep and shadowed, its petals crushed against smooth sandalwood that feels more like polished stone than a forest tree. The floral heart rests here, steady and composed, letting the initial citrus drift away into the background of the room.
Beneath that floral layer, the floor of the fragrance is rich and textured. Orris and patchouli bring a soft, earthy powder that mingles with the heavy resin of benzoin and labdanum. Vanilla and amber add a golden, sweet weight, while the distinct, bitter warmth of opium grounds the entire composition. It is a blend that feels layered and intentional, surrounding you like the heat radiating from the fire.
You sit still, watching the way the lamplight catches the dust motes dancing in the air, the scent of iris and balsamic resin hanging thick and sweet around the chair where you rest.
