Black Spruce opens with cool evergreen needles and a dry, peppery lift from cardamom and nutmeg. The spruce smells realistically green rather than cleaned up or polished, and the spices give it a crisp edge without turning hot. It feels immediate and outdoors, like stepping into a shaded grove where the air is cool and the ground is covered in needles.
Coffee and frankincense move into the center, adding a dark, resinous weight that pulls the bright opening downward. Vetiver brings an earthy, slightly bitter root tone that keeps the coffee from reading sweet. The blend stays woody and aromatic, with the balsamic and amber accords providing a warm, rounded base that feels steady rather than flashy.
Sandalwood and labdanum anchor the composition, while the milk cream note softens the edges with a gentle, lactonic smoothness. The result is a resinous wood that suits bright, active days outdoors when the air carries a chill. It is composed by Alia Raza. The milk cream accord can read slightly synthetic on skin, which distracts from the natural spruce and frankincense.
