Our take

Willows opens with a peculiar, dusty warmth that feels like sun hitting a grain silo at dawn. The wheat note is dry and biscuity, while carrot seeds lend an earthy, almost rooty greenness that keeps things from tipping into outright gourmand. That odd, introverted opening gives way to a powdery iris and violet duo that feel more like a memory of a flower than the actual thing. The white pepper snaps in just enough to prevent the composition from becoming too docile, and the tonka bean hums underneath like a quiet engine. Mimosa adds a soft, pollen-like fuzz around the edges. The overall character is that of a willow tree bare in early spring: pale, graceful, slightly melancholic, with branches that shiver rather than sway.

This is a sheer, intimate scent. The sillage and longevity are frankly modest, hovering around two to three hours on skin, so do not expect a performance bomb. It floats close to the body like a linen shirt brushing against your wrist. The sweetness is restrained, leaning more toward a dusty vanilla than anything sugary, and the composition feels natural and refined, very much in the niche lane.

It suits someone who loves quiet, contemplative fragrances, who does not mind reapplying and who prefers subtlety over projection. Skip it if you want boldness or animalic depth. Wear it on a cool spring morning with a light jacket, or during a rainy fall afternoon when the air carries that particular damp, soil-like scent. It is a fragrance for solitude, not social performance, and if that sounds like your tempo, Willows will reward your patience.
