Al02 opens with a burst of juicy stone fruit and bright citrus, all Amalfi lemon and mandarin, but the sweetness of plum and peach is already hinting at something deeper. Within minutes, the heart drags you into a spice market: cinnamon and cardamom take the lead while carnation and rose add a powdery floral heat that feels almost syrupy. The base is where this fragrance earns its keep. Tonka, vanilla, and labdanum create a dense amber cushion, while incense and vetiver provide structure, keeping the whole thing from collapsing into pure dessert.
This is a Oriental Spicy scent with a noticeable sweetness, but not cloying. It leans slightly synthetic in the opening fruit accord, which may bother purists, but the drydown is rich and convincingly natural. The sillage is moderate, the longevity decent for a cozy scent. It sits close to the skin after a few hours. A cinnamon dusted plum compote served on a polished wooden tray, with a curl of incense smoke rising from the side. That is the image.
Best for fall and winter, worn during the day when the air is cool. Not for high heat or sweaty commutes. Suits anyone who appreciates a warm, spicy, somewhat gourmand oriental without demanding projection or compliments. If you hate sweet scents or find cinnamon aggressive, skip it. This is a comfortable, well blended fragrance that knows its limits and stays within them. A touch more punch would have pushed it higher, but sometimes a whisper is more interesting than a shout.
