Eilish No 2 opens on an odd pairing: bergamot and apple blossom, sweet and citrus at once, cut almost immediately by a thread of incense that turns the whole thing more solemn than fruity. The apple blossom never gets the chance to turn sugary, pulled sideways by the smoke before it can settle into anything simple. It does not overstay, drifting at a middling pace, and it keeps its distance too, sitting as a small halo that only someone standing close will register.
Black pepper and papyrus dry the composition out in the heart, with poppy giving it a faint, dusty softness, almost like the smell of old paper in a quiet room. By the base, palo santo and ebony take over, a dark, dense wood pairing balanced by vanilla and musk so the finish reads warm rather than austere.
It works best after dark, through the colder months, when the incense and dark wood pairing feels most at home. Unisex in the loosest sense, it suits anyone drawn to a scent that leans toward smoke and paper more than fruit and flowers, with the apple blossom fading into a faint background trace beneath the incense by the finish.
