Our take

The opening hits hard with peppermint and lemon, and the immediate problem is how sharp that collision feels. It is brisk to the point of being abrasive, a cold sting that makes the nose wrinkle before the rest of the composition has a chance to settle. The lavender extract adds a soapy edge that does not soften the blow, it just makes the sharpness smell cleaner.

In this sunlit courtyard, the heart reveals geranium and cloves beside a faint jasmine. The spices give the air a dry heat while the flowers try to keep things light. Patchouli and cedar anchor the moment, heavy and earthy against the stone walls. Moss and labdanum wrap the scene in a green, resinous blanket that feels rooted in the ground. The citrus still flickers above, but the base pulls everything downward into a dense, forest-like stillness.

That initial bite never fully disappears, and the peppermint lingers in a way that can feel unbalanced against the deep chypre base. It is a difficult introduction that asks patience from anyone standing nearby, because the harsh top notes refuse to step aside gracefully for the woods beneath.
