Character
Abed by Anomalia Paris opens with a slap of cold, wet stone and a sharp iodine tang that smells like a tide pool at low tide. That mineral blast is quickly dusted with Ceylon cinnamon, which doesn’t warm so much as add a scratchy, aromatic texture, like grinding spice into salt. The heart blooms into a dense white floral trio: tiare, tuberose, jasmine sambac. They are creamy but not buttery, more like the milky sap of a broken stem than a full bouquet. The vanilla, Peru balsam, and myrrh base dries down to a soft, sweet balsamic resin that clings close to the skin. The overall character is a study in contrasts: the chill of the mineral top versus the warm, almost tropical floral sweetness beneath. I picture a shell washed ashore, still damp and salty, with a single white petal stuck to its curve.
This is a gentle, intimate scent. The sillage is low, barely a whisper, and longevity sits around three to four hours before retreating into a skin scent. It wears best in spring and summer, and given the 94 percent day association, it would be a lovely morning companion for a quiet walk or a minimalist office. It feels natural and quietly niche, not loud or synthetic. Who should wear it? Someone who wants a white floral with an edge, no heavy syrup. Skip it if you demand projection or a big tuberose bomb, because this one stays close and lets the minerals do the talking.
