Obsidian Smokes
Fragrance notes
Character
A courtyard sits quiet under strings of amber bulbs. The air carries cardamom and cinnamon, warmed further by a trace of cumin that gives the space a lived-in feel. Wild lavender threads through the spice, soft and slightly herbal, while clary sage keeps the opening from feeling heavy. The blend reads as a group of friends gathered around a table, the air rich with talk and heat, the first impression settled and confident.
Smoke begins to rise as incense joins cedar and leather at the center of the scene. The leather feels dry and worked, not polished, and the cedar gives it a clean line that prevents the smoke from turning murky. Resin builds slowly beneath the surface, amber and labdanum adding a golden weight that pulls the aromatic notes closer to the skin. Guaiac wood and patchouli ground the heart, and oud enters with a dark, earthy presence that makes the courtyard feel smaller and more intimate.
The warmth of the resin wraps around the smoke until the entire space smells of polished wood and old stone. Spice lingers in the fabric of a jacket draped over a chair, and the leather of the seat carries the same dry scent as the air. The courtyard holds this exact mixture of aromatic herbs, burning resin, and dark wood, the whole moment captured in a single breath beside a clay bowl filled with cooling embers and crushed sage.
