Our take

Ormolu opens with chamomile and bergamot, joined by the bitter green edge of mugwort. The chamomile brings a soft, hay-like warmth that keeps the citrus from feeling sharp. Mugwort adds a herbal touch that feels bright and slightly medicinal, giving the start a clear, garden-picked character that suits a sunlit room.

The heart gathers rose, jasmine, ylang-ylang and violet into a rounded floral blend. Rose leads without dominating, while jasmine adds a creamy weight. Ylang-ylang pushes the mix toward a gentle richness, and violet smooths the edges with a powdery finish that sits close to the skin.

Oakmoss and sandalwood form a woody, mossy base that grounds the flowers. Amber adds a golden resinous warmth, and musk keeps the drydown soft. The green herbal opening slowly gives way to the floral heart, then settles into a woody, earthy finish that stays gentle rather than bold.

The powdery side of the violet and musk can feel a bit dated to modern noses. The herbal opening is pleasant but brief, and the floral heart lacks a distinct shape once the citrus fades. It is a polite composition that never quite decides what it wants to be beyond soft and traditional.
