Our take

28° by Ormaie opens with a brisk citrus spritz, lemon and mandarin zipping alongside a prickly peppertree that keeps things from turning into a generic mimosa brunch. The heart is where the white floral brigade marches in, orange blossom and jasmine sambac leading, tuberose and rose trailing in their wake, smelling less like a garden and more like a freshly pressed bouquet at a hotel lobby that charges by the stem. The dry-down settles into vanilla softened with immortelle’s maple-hay warmth and a whisper of sandalwood. Despite the gender-neutral launch, this reads distinctly feminine, a sweet but not goopy white floral that wears like a silk slip dress on a very hot afternoon. There is plenty of fragrance, but not much projection; one spray will stay close enough to read a book by, two are generous. The dry-down fades faster than you’d want, with none of the stickiness of a tuberose bomb. That’s the honesty part: at a 2.87 longevity and 2.58 sillage, this is a breezy affair with a sharp exit. Best for a summer picnic, a coffee date, a day you want to smell expensive but not loud. Skip it if you demand last-all-day presence or prefer ash and leather. The overall character is like a handwritten note on thin paper, lovely while it lasts, then gone before you can read it twice. ☀️
