Our take

Tallulah B opens with a bright citrus flash of mandarin orange and bergamot that immediately meets a dusty, warm clove. The rose appears early, sitting between the zest and the spice rather than floating above them. Neroli and lily add a soft white floral lift, while vanilla smooths the edges so the start feels rounded and inviting instead of sharp.

The heart deepens that rose, now joined by the honeyed air of lime blossom and the indolic weight of jasmine. It is a full, slightly powdery floral that leans into the warmth of the opening spices. The cloves linger here, giving the flowers a gentle bite that keeps the sweetness from becoming flat or overly pretty.

Sandalwood and vetiver anchor the blend with a dry, woody base that feels grounded and calm. Musk wraps the woods in a soft haze, pulling the powdery accord closer to the skin. The vanilla from the top returns in a quieter form, now more resinous than sugary, blending seamlessly into the sandalwood.

Jane Cate composed a chypre that balances citrus, spice, and rose with a woody, musky foundation. It feels like a polished choice for someone who enjoys classic floral structures with a warm, spicy backbone. Wear it on a spring afternoon when you want a scent that feels both elegant and comfortably familiar.
