Our take

Michael Sheer opens with a bright, salty spritz of bergamot and Amalfi lemon, the sea water note more like a cool breeze than a plunge into the ocean. It quickly swells into a dense bouquet of white florals, tuberose and jasmine and honeysuckle all jostling for attention, but the green sharpness of geranium and a whisper of clove keep it from becoming sugary. The dry down is where it softens into a familiar comfort: powdery heliotrope, clean musk, and a sandy drift of vetiver and cedar. This fragrance is a sun-bleached seashell picked up at noon, still warm from the beach, its ridges faintly sticky with sunscreen and salt.

It feels mostly natural in its floweriness, though the aquatic accord nudges it toward that mainstream early 2000s freshness. For a sheer, light scent, the sillage is decent at a moderate haze, but longevity is the real let down, barely lasting past lunch. It suits someone who wants a pretty, breezy floral for a brunch date or a lazy afternoon by the pool, and it thrives in spring and summer sun. Skip it if you crave depth, darkness, or anything that survives a commute. This is a fragrance that evaporates like a sigh, lovely while it lingers but gone before you can call it memorable.
