Our take

Inside a dimly lit lounge, the air is thick with curling smoke and low conversation. A brass brazier glows in the corner, its resinous incense drifting upward as you settle into a worn leather chair. The atmosphere feels heavy and intimate. On your skin, the scent arrives with that same frankincense sharpness, quickly giving way to a damp, rich tobacco leaf that has been steeped in rose water. It is a sweet, fruity smoke, the kind that clings to velvet curtains in an old establishment. The leather here is supple rather than aggressive, blending into a heart that feels both balsamic and deeply animalic. There is a distinct warmth coming from the base, where a creamy vanilla attempts to soften the edges of a medicinal, sour oud.

The room holds this dense, amber-heavy cloud as glasses clink and the night deepens. The vanilla adds a sugary gloss to the rugged tobacco, creating a contrast that feels indulgent and slightly sticky. Yet, the synthetic edge of that fruitiness never quite dissolves into the natural smoke. The rose water provides a fleeting freshness, but it cannot fully lift the weight of the animalic notes. The oud feels somewhat one-dimensional, lacking the complex woodiness found in more refined compositions. It is a bold, unapologetic scent for a cold evening, but the artificial fruitiness ultimately distracts from the otherwise dark and resinous experience.
