Our take

Vetiver in Bloom opens with a sharp, almost electric pop of pink pepper and juniper, the citrus from Sicilian bergamot slicing through like a blade of morning light. Within minutes, the florals unfurl—lilac and magnolia at first, then a syrupy Egyptian jasmine that threatens to overwhelm before the Haitian vetiver cuts in, green and earthy, pulling everything back from the brink of sweetness. It’s a clever trick: the perfume wears a floral dress over muddy boots, and it’s the boots that ground the whole thing.

The dry down is where the patchouli leaf and white musk take over, softening the vetiver’s rough edges into something almost velvety. This is not a loud fragrance—the sillage sits close, like a conversation you’re only meant to catch in passing, and longevity barely scratches three hours. It feels natural, a little niche in its refusal to shout, but underpowered for the price point.

Who should wear it? Anyone who wants a vetiver that doesn’t smell like a barbershop or a root cellar. Skip it if you need projection or all-day presence. Best in the spring, when the lilac is in actual bloom, or on a cool summer evening when the jasmine can breathe without wilting. It’s a walk through a garden after rain: the flowers are still dripping, but the earth beneath them is real.
