Dote White
Fragrance notes
Character
Dote White opens with a sharp blend of black pepper, pink pepper, frankincense, and saffron. The spices feel dry and slightly resinous from the first moment, with the saffron adding a faint golden warmth that keeps the pepper from feeling purely medicinal. This introduction is brisk and angular, setting a tone that is more structured than playful.
The heart introduces lavender, cinnamon, tobacco, and rose. The lavender brings a clean, herbal edge that cuts through the heavier spices, while cinnamon adds a dry heat. Tobacco lends a leafy, slightly sweet depth, and rose sits quietly in the background, offering a soft floral lift without turning the fragrance powdery. As it moves into the base, Haitian vetiver, sandalwood, patchouli, cedar, labdanum, oakmoss, leather, amber, and musk create a dense, woody foundation. The leather and oakmoss add an earthy texture, while amber and musk smooth the edges.
The overall character is warm, spicy, and firmly woody, with a musky, aromatic finish that feels suited to bright, active daylight. The composition is complex and well-layered, but the sheer number of base notes can make the drydown feel crowded. The individual woods and resins do not always stand apart, so the final stage lacks a clear focal point.
