Our take

Snooki by Nicole Polizzi opens with a blast of kiwi, litchi, and quince that tastes like a half melted popsicle on a sticky boardwalk bench. The heart layer is where the confusion sets in: a frosting sweet cupcake note tussles with a tropical jasmine that feels less like a garden and more like plug in air freshener after a party. On the dry down, driftwood and a whisper of musk try to ground the sugar rush, but the base stays candied and synthetic, a cheap wooden souvenir dipped in caramel. This is a fragrance built for one purpose and one season: summer days, loud and laughing, where sillage and longevity are afterthoughts because you will reapply after a dip in the ocean. The numbers back that up, with a loyalty to daylight and warmth. If you want a beach club scent that announces itself in a cheerleader’s shriek, this fits. If you prefer subtlety, complexity, or anything that doesn’t smell like a piña colada that fell into a cupcake, skip it. Snooki is a fruit shaped gumball from a quarter machine, bright and forgettable the second you chew. Who is it for? Someone who wants to smell like a sugar crusted memory of 2011, a hot day, and zero apologies.
