Fragrance notes
Character
The heavy door swings shut behind you, cutting off the street noise. Inside the dim lounge, walnut panels line the walls and a low fire crackles in the hearth. You unbutton your coat and the air around you shifts. The first impression is a bright, prickly lift of Sicilian mandarin, quickly overtaken by the dry heat of cardamom and black pepper. Saffron adds a metallic, golden shimmer that feels expensive against the dark interior.
As the room settles, the heart of the fragrance unfolds. Cinnamon warms the air like a wool blanket, while a dewy rose and a clean flash of neroli keep the spices from feeling too heavy. The rose here is not soft or romantic. It is structured and firm, standing tall beside the bark-like spice. It smells like a tailored suit in a room filled with old books and polished wood.
Beneath the surface, the foundation anchors the entire scene. Patchouli and sandalwood create a dense, creamy floor, but it is the iris and leather that define the character. The leather note smells like the worn grain of a favorite armchair, powdery and refined rather than aggressive. It merges with the rooty iris to create a sophisticated, slightly dusty texture that feels grounded and mature.
You sit down and order a drink, the scent merging with the smoke and wood of the lounge. The mandarin has vanished, leaving behind a rich blend of cinnamon and rose wrapped in a woody, leathery embrace. It is a warm spicy composition that lingers in the air.
