Our take

A narrow stone path winds between damp cypress trees, their needles brushing the shoulders of a heavy wool coat. The air carries a sharp peel of bitter orange that cuts through the chill, softened by the resinous weight of labdanum. Calamus adds a green, slightly peppery edge to the opening, keeping the citrus from feeling bright. This is not a scent that seeks the sun. It belongs to the damp, gray stillness of a walk where the sky stays low and the world feels hushed under a layer of cold air.

As the path opens near an old stone wall, the heart of Strange Days reveals itself. Egyptian jasmine and Moroccan rose do not float freely here. They are pressed into the warmth of cinnamon and a drifting veil of incense, creating a floral presence that feels dry and deliberate. The spices do not bite. They settle into the fabric of the moment, lending a ceremonial weight to the flowers. Composed by Francesco Perini, the blend moves with a steady, grounded pace, never rushing to change but simply existing in the cool air with a rich, balsamic depth.

The base notes anchor the scene to the earth. Egyptian balsam and benzoin release a sweet, resinous smoke that mingles with the dark, mineral pull of oud and the salty whisper of ambergris. The fragrance feels like a thick, hand-woven scarf draped over a bench in a courtyard where rain has just stopped falling on ancient stones.
