Merit
Fragrance notes
Character
Merit opens with quince and almond, a pairing that feels more like biting into fruit near a bakery than standing at a perfume counter. The almond here is soft and meal-like rather than sharp or bitter. Tobacco leaf sits quietly in the background, lending a dry edge to the bright opening without taking over.
Mimosa and tiare flower give the heart a yellow floral warmth that leans powdery. Suede and mate add a textured, slightly herbal dryness that keeps the sweetness from becoming flat. Plum appears in glimpses, round and dark, while tolu balsam and elemi provide a resinous lift that feels polished rather than heavy.
Patchouli and oakmoss anchor the base with a classic chypre structure, but vanilla and musk smooth the edges so the finish stays approachable. Violet leaf brings a fresh, green whisper that cuts through the richer notes. The overall impression is sweet, fruity, and white floral, with a powdery softness that lingers on the skin.
