Wood Flake opens with a distinct blend of hinoki wood and cedar. The hinoki brings a bright, slightly citrus edge to the dry timber of the cedar, creating an immediate impression of clean lumber. This opening feels crisp and natural, avoiding the heavy resin often found in wood-focused compositions.
As the fragrance develops, a gentle rose emerges alongside vetiver. The floral aspect is restrained and powdery, never dominating the aromatic green streak of the vetiver. Together, they soften the initial woodiness without turning the scent sweet or overly floral.
The foundation relies on guaiac wood, sandalwood, vanilla, and musk. The vanilla adds a creamy smoothness that binds the woods together, while the musk lends a soft, skin-like texture.
