Our take

Bergamot gives a brisk, almost clinical opening, a citrus slap that says “pay attention” before it dissolves into something much softer. The heart is where Jacomo #02 gets interesting: tonka bean and lily together, one creamy and coumarin-sweet, the other waxy and white, like a bouquet left too long in a heated room. Then the base pulls everything into its orbit, suede, vanilla, patchouli, amber, and the whole thing settles into a powdery, balsamic sweetness that feels less like perfume and more like the inside of an old leather-bound diary pressed with dried flowers.

This is a ghost of a fragrance. It wears close, barely whispers, and fades fast, longevity barely scraping two and a half hours, sillage a polite murmur. That makes it an intimate affair, best for a quiet afternoon in early spring or a cozy winter evening when you want to catch its warmth only in stolen sniffs. The overall character is a sun-warmed library chair, the leather cracked, the vanilla dust settling.

It suits someone who loves amber and soft leather but doesn’t need to announce themselves from across the room. Skip it if you want projection or a full day’s wear. For the price and the fleeting presence, it’s more a mood than a statement, a sweet balsamic sigh rather than a shout. Would it be worth the hunt if it lasted? Maybe, but as it is, it’s a fleeting pleasure, not a keeper.
