Absinto Proibido
Fragrance notes
Character
Absinto Proibido opens with pink pepper and mandarin orange over a rice note that softens the citrus bite. The spice is present but restrained, and the mandarin carries a bright, clean edge. Rice adds a gentle, slightly starchy smoothness that keeps the start from feeling sharp or thin.
The heart brings orange blossom, belladonna, lily-of-the-valley, and peony together in a white floral mix. Orange blossom leads with a creamy, slightly indolic character, while lily-of-the-valley and peony add a lighter, fresher layer. Belladonna deepens the floral accord with a faintly dark, green touch that prevents the bouquet from becoming purely pretty.
Coffee, sugar, almond, and sandalwood form a base that is sweet, nutty, and woody. The coffee is warm rather than bitter, the sugar rounds the edges, and the almond gives a soft, marzipan-like depth. Sandalwood smooths the drydown. The overall feeling suits a candlelit room, a jacket over the shoulders, and air that carries a slight chill. The scent closes on its almond accord.
