Dark Leather
Fragrance notes
Character
Dark Leather by Rayhaan opens with a brisk mix of pink pepper, clary sage, and juniper. The pepper brings a slight bite that wakes up the herbs, while the juniper adds a fresh, slightly pine-like edge. This introduction stays near the skin as the sage spreads through the first minutes, letting the initial spray settle without pushing outward across a room.
The heart shifts toward orris and mate. Orris adds a powdery iris tone that softens the opening herbs, and the mate contributes a dry, tea-like greenness. During this phase the scent maintains a steady presence that carries through a commute or a walk without needing another spray. The leather in the base begins to show early here, threaded through the orris so the transition feels gradual rather than sudden.
Birch and tonka bean join the leather, with amber rounding out the base. The birch adds a smoky wood feel, tonka brings a sweet vanilla touch, and amber deepens the warm resinous side. These notes hold their shape for a reasonable span before the leather and amber become the main impression. The final drydown rests on that leather, supported by the powdery iris accord.
