Our take

Maison Alhambra’s Your Touch opens with a brisk, almost electric slap of pink pepper and mint, the violet leaf adding a cool, slightly metallic greenness that cuts through the cardamom’s warmth. Within minutes, the heart reveals a peculiar tension: lavender and sage try to keep things aromatic and barbershop clean, but a tidal wave of cinnamon and synthetic-smelling fruit notes, pineapple and watermelon, bulldozes in, turning the composition into a sweet, candied mess. The drydown rescues it partially, settling into a cozy base of chestnut, vanilla, and soft amberwood, where the cedar and guaiac wood provide a gentle, woody anchor. The overall character is like a vintage arcade carpet: loud, colorful patterns that clash, yet somehow feel nostalgic and comforting after a while.

This is a very synthetic, unmistakably mainstream interpretation of an oriental gourmand, heavy on sweetness and spice but thin on depth. The longevity is mediocre at 3.3, and the sillage is truly poor at 2.73, so you’ll need to overspray if you want anyone to notice beyond an arm’s length. It suits someone who wants a cheap, sweet, cinnamon-heavy scent for cold weather, especially in fall or winter when the warmth of the chestnut and vanilla can bloom. Skip it if you value natural-smelling compositions, prefer spicy minimalism, or need a fragrance that projects. Wear it to a cozy night in, a casual dinner, or any situation where intimacy trumps announcement and you don’t mind reapplication.
