A cherry fragrance usually announces itself with a loud, candy-coated blast that disappears into something forgettable. Ginja has no interest in that approach. It opens with a tart, slightly sour cherry note that immediately feels like real fruit rather than a manufactured sweet. The bitter almond cuts the initial juiciness with a dry, nutty edge, preventing the scent from becoming a simple gourmand. This is a cherry that remembers it grew on a tree.
The floral heart does not turn the fragrance powdery. Instead, the jasmine and rose provide a soft, slightly humid texture that bridges the gap between the sharp opening and the resinous base. It feels like wearing a silk scarf that caught a splash of dark liqueur. There is a warmth here that suggests a heavy knit sweater or the quiet atmosphere of a room lit by a fireplace. Benamôr did not create a seasonal novelty. They built a resinous, edible fog. The benzoin and tonka bean in the base melt into a golden, amber-hued skin scent that smells like caramelized sugar and dried fruit. It is a scent for the transitional moments of the year when the air turns crisp enough to see your breath, yet the sun still holds a little heat.
