Our take

The courtyard is bright and warm, filled with the scent of crushed green stems and ripe fruit resting on a stone table. A breeze carries the sharp bite of galbanum and lemon through the air, softened immediately by the creamy flesh of peach and the damp, leafy edge of fig leaf. Someone nearby holds a glass of cognac that has been chilled and poured over lavender sprigs, the herbal spirit mixing with the juice of fresh figs and a faint dusting of coriander. The air feels alive with this blend of tart citrus and sweet, aromatic herbs, creating a space that is lush but never heavy. Cedar planks line the bench where the light catches the fuzz on the fruit skin, and the entire scene smells of clean wood, sweet stone fruit, and a greenness that feels like new growth.

The dry air begins to turn the peach slices dull, and the lemon zest loses its spark as the galbanum settles into a flat, waxy film. The fig and cognac heart grows syrupy without the bright top notes to lift them, and the amber and tonka bean base feels thick against the warm air. White musk and cedar try to hold the structure, but the coriander turns dusty rather than crisp. The powdery vanilla accord sits heavily on the skin, lacking the movement found in the opening minutes. The initial clarity vanishes into a sweet, woody blanket that feels slightly synthetic and clumsy. The composition becomes a blur of sugary amber and flat green stems.
