The garage door is open just enough to let in a cool draft. You are leaning against the workbench, hands still dusty from the afternoon, when a sharp spray of pink grapefruit cuts through the stale air. Star anise follows immediately, its cool licorice edge wrapping around the citrus so the opening feels brisk rather than bright. The room settles into a soft cloud of heliotrope and lavender. The heliotrope brings a gentle, powdered almond tone that smooths the herbs, while the lavender keeps the air feeling clean and upright.
Raspberry enters from the base, but it is not a fresh fruit. It reads like a dried powder, sweet and slightly flat, sitting heavily beside the dry scratch of vetiver. The accord becomes aromatic and powdery at once, a mix that feels more assembled than grown. The anis accord lingers in the background, giving the whole scene a faintly medicinal tilt that never quite disappears. It is a sweet, woody profile that stays close to the skin and refuses to shift.
The vetiver here lacks the grassy spark that usually lifts a fruity base. Instead it sits still, letting the raspberry and heliotrope dominate until the blend feels one-dimensional. The synthetic edge in the floral notes becomes more noticeable the longer the scent hangs in the small space. It is a pleasant enough atmosphere for a quiet task, but the composition offers little beyond its initial citrus spark.
