Natural Mystic

Character
Rain is just starting to let up on a stone terrace, and the man leaning on the rail is still damp at the collar. He is wearing a charcoal sweater with the sleeves pushed back, staring at the steam rising off the paving stones. Natural Mystic sits close to his skin, feeling less like a perfume and more like the heat coming off the stone. The cardamom and citrus read like someone peeled an orange in a spice cabinet, sharp and bright but already warming into something else. Pink pepper and black currant give the air a faint, dark fizz, while jasmine threads through the cedar without ever reading like a flower arrangement. It smells like a city at dusk in October, when the pavement is still slick and the sky has that heavy, violet tint. The amber and musk in the base do not announce themselves so much as settle, pulling the sweeter notes into a soft, low glow. There is a quiet confidence to it, the kind that does not need to speak first in a room. One hand is in a pocket, the other curled around a mug that is no longer hot, and the scent is behaving exactly the same way: present, settled, completely unconcerned with being noticed.
