Deep In opens with vanilla and anise placed beside vetiver. The vanilla is soft and rounded, the anise carries a clean, faintly spicy lift, and the vetiver adds a dry, earthy edge that keeps the start from feeling heavy. Bergamot moves into the heart with a bright citrus thread that runs through jasmine and rose. The jasmine is smooth and white, the rose is gentle rather than sharp, and the bergamot keeps the floral side from turning dense. Sandalwood and amber form a warm, resinous base that sits under the musk. The musk is light and powdery, giving the drydown a smooth finish that stays close to the skin without becoming cloying. The woody accord runs through most of the wear, tying the citrus, florals, and resin together so the transitions feel steady rather than abrupt.
The composition stays balanced across its notes, with no single element dominating for long. The anise remains present in small amounts, the vanilla never turns sugary, and the florals keep a clean tone throughout. The powdery accord increases slightly as the fragrance settles, which some wearers may find too soft for their taste. The scent works well for an evening outdoors when the air is warm and the light is low, surrounded by conversation and music. The only real limitation is the powdery drydown, which can feel flat and a little dated compared to the brighter opening and heart.
