Eternal Oud
Fragrance notes
Character
Eternal Oud by Maison de l'Avenir opens with a bright, metallic lavender that feels polished and clean. The aldehydes add a sparkling lift that keeps the entrance airy rather than heavy. Saffron brings a warm, slightly leathery edge that sits comfortably beside the floral rose without turning sweet.
Oud enters early and stays present throughout. It is smooth and resinous, supported by guaiac wood and a dry clove note that keeps the texture firm. Geranium adds a green, slightly bitter herbal touch that prevents the wood from feeling flat.
The base rests on patchouli and labdanum. Amber rounds the blend with a soft glow, while musk keeps the finish plush. The overall impression is woody and aromatic with steady spice, suited to someone who likes resinous florals that stay structured and dry.
The composition feels crowded. The lavender, rose, oud, and amber all compete for attention at once, so no single element gets room to breathe. It lacks a clear focal point and can feel busy on the skin.
