Champion Black starts with a surprising sweetness, the ylang ylang soft and almost powdery, settling onto a bed of white musk that feels clean but not soapy. Within minutes, the patchouli and moss rise up, earthy and slightly damp, giving the composition a grounded, woodsy spine. The dry down reveals cedar and a whisper of tobacco leaf, not smoky or heavy, just a gentle warmth that lingers close to the skin. It feels like a moss covered stone in a forgotten garden, one where a single yellow flower has fallen and been pressed into the damp earth. The overall character is woody floral musk, leaning more natural than synthetic, though the musk has that airy, slightly perfumed quality common to budget friendly Middle Eastern houses. Longevity sits around moderate, three to four hours before it becomes a skin scent, and sillage is intimate, never projecting more than an arm’s length. That’s the real weakness here: it fades too quickly for the price per spray. Ideal for spring and summer daytime wear, especially casual errands or a relaxed lunch outdoors.
