Sweet Amber
Fragrance notes
Character
Sweet Amber opens with a sharp, green lift from galbanum and bergamot. Saffron and cypriol add a dry, spicy edge, while aldehydes bring a faint metallic brightness. The top notes feel brisk and slightly austere, with the galbanum keeping the saffron from feeling heavy right away.
The heart gathers rose, jasmine, violet, heliotrope, ylang-ylang, lily-of-the-valley, and palisander rosewood into a soft, powdery floral blend. Heliotrope lends a gentle almond-like sweetness, and the rosewood adds a faint rosy wood tone. As the florals settle, the base begins to show. Cedar, vetiver, guaiac wood, and sandalwood form a smooth, dry wood foundation. Oud and patchouli add earthy depth and a quiet resinous weight. The woods grow warmer and more rounded, with sandalwood softening the sharper edges of the vetiver and cedar.
The air feels cool and still under a gray sky, the kind of morning that asks for a scarf and a coat. Someone who enjoys floral woods with a dry, earthy finish will appreciate how the powdery heart rests on that sturdy base. Wear it when the weather turns crisp and the days feel shorter.
