Character
The sage here snaps so sharply that it almost scratches. It hits first alongside a cool, pale bergamot, but the wormwood underneath turns the air bitter and strange. This is not a smooth entrance. The leather arrives early, stiff and untreated, pulled into the fold by a lavender that smells more like crushed stems than a neat flower. Vetiver adds a rooty dryness that keeps the opening from ever feeling clean. Oakmoss and coumarin sit in the base, heavy and mossy, pulling the whole composition toward a shaded forest floor.
Sunlight cuts through the slats of a wooden fence, landing on a pair of worn leather boots and the dry dust of a riding ring. The air smells of sage brushed against warm skin, mixed with the resinous bite of wormwood growing wild near the rails. Geranium floats above the tack room scent of the leather, while a faint animalic musk rises from the heat of the ground. Smoke from a far barn drifts through the scene without ever touching down, wrapping the aromatic herbs in a thin, woody haze that settles into the fabric of a sleeve
