Our take

Orchidivy 21.1 opens like a greenhouse door left ajar on a humid spring morning. You get the sharp, green snap of tomato leaf and ivy, but it’s softened by a watery, ozonic sweetness that feels almost like rain on warm stones. A raspberry note flickers through, not jammy but tart and slightly herbal, before the gardenia and vanilla absolute ease in to smooth the edges. The hay adds a dusty, sunbaked texture that keeps the whole thing from tipping into sugary territory. This is a fragrance that wears like a pale green chiffon scarf, light enough to flutter away on the breeze.

And that’s the catch. The sillage is whisper-thin, and longevity barely clears a few hours before you’re left with only a ghost of tonka and vanilla on your skin. It’s a beautiful ghost, but for the price of a niche bottle, you deserve more presence. The composition feels naturalistic and clever, Pierre Guillaume clearly enjoys playing with contrast, but the execution leans too delicate for its own good.

It suits someone who wants a fresh, green scent without the sharpness of cut grass or the heft of a white floral bomb. Skip it if you crave projection or all-day performance. Wear it for a daytime spring picnic, a garden party, or a quiet Sunday brunch, and reapply without shame.
