Character
The low lounge table holds a half-empty coupe glass and a few crumpled napkins. A woman leans back into the velvet bench, her wrist near the candle flame. The air around her carries strawberry and chocolate, thick and sugared, with a soft thread of vanilla winding through. It smells like a dessert plate left out after the last guest has gone, the fruit syrup dried into the glass and the cocoa powder still clinging to the rim.
Fig sits beneath the sugar, adding a damp, rounded weight that keeps the blend from floating away. White flowers give the sweetness a faint, powdered edge, as if someone dusted the fruit with something dry. Tobacco lingers at the edges, warm and a little dry, pulling the gourmand notes toward something more grown.
The scent stays near her skin, moving only a short distance when she shifts her arm. It remains present for a reasonable span, fading slowly rather than dropping all at once. Nothing here demands attention across the room, yet it does not vanish the moment the glass is lifted.
Coconut and sandalwood round out the air, smooth and quiet, as the candle flickers against the glass and the sugar hangs heavy in the small space between the table and her wrist.
