The opening feels deliberate rather than loud, leaning into the warm spicy accord without sliding into heat for its own sake. Nutmeg rounds the top just enough to keep the blend from feeling clinical, then the heart takes over with oud and patchouli that sit close to the skin in a dark, earthy layer. Sandalwood and vetiver give the center some structure, while labdanum pulls the resins together so the woods never drift into sharpness.
The base is where the profile changes shape. Rhum agricole and liquor notes bring a raw, fermented sweetness that vanilla softens without cleaning up. Beeswax adds a thick, golden texture, and fenugreek leaves a faintly bitter, almost curry-like trace that keeps the sweetness honest. Ambergris sits underneath it all, linking the resinous woods to the alcohol accord so the transition feels smooth rather than staged. The result is balsamic and powdery in the same breath, with a metallic flick that never quite disappears.
